THREE months ago, father-of-three Scott Lloyd could not walk a mile without being sick.
Now, he has lost 4st and is preparing to take part in the gruelling Hell On The Humber challenge.
The 12-hour endurance race, back and forth over the Humber Bridge, takes place between 7pm on Friday, August 17, and 7am on Saturday, August 18.
Scott, of Kingswood, said: "All my life I have been overweight but after my partner and I had our third child and I was diagnosed with diabetes, I decided enough was enough and I needed to do something.
"I want to be here to see my children grow up."
Scott enlisted the help of Hull personal trainer Aaron Howlett, who won series one of the Biggest Loser TV show.
Aaron has mentored many people since the show and has had amazing results.
He said: "Scott has done fantastic so far. He is really dedicated and has had amazing results so far.
"We train together every morning at 5am on Hull Marina.
"So far he has lost 4st and if he keeps this up he could lose about 11st altogether by the end of the year."
Aaron will be joining Scott on the challenge, but will have an extra 100lb added to him in sand, to really push himself.
Scott, who is the managing director of East Yorkshire Gas Services, has also completely changed his diet.
He said: "Doing the job I do, you work long hours and are constantly on the go, so you tend to grab fast food to keep going.
"I have stopped this and eat much healthier now.
"My whole outlook on food and exercise has changed."
Scott has decided to raise money for the Daisy Appeal charity.
Scott said: "I have lost close family including my dad and grandparents to cancer so I wanted to raise money in their memory, but at the same time raise money for a charity that will help local people.
"The Daisy Appeal is perfect as they do a lot of work at Castle Hill Hospital and it will benefit patients there."
