TWO Orchard Park tower blocks will be demolished next weekend.
Ashthorpe and Milldane are due to be pulled down on Sunday, August 11.
Nearby residents will be evacuated, as a safety precaution, when the charges are set off.
Once the blocks are gone, work can begin on a £13.5m facelift of the estate.
Building work on 75 one and two-bedroom flats and 25 two-bedroom council houses is due to begin in September.
The planned refurbishment of 94 one-bedroom flats in the Gorthorpe and Kinthorpe multi-storey blocks is also scheduled to start in the autumn.
The joint venture between the city council and social housing group Riverside is being funded from a variety of sources.
