STEPHEN Quinn is confident Hull City have addressed their attacking flaws and now have the firepower to survive a first season back in the Premier League.
Although last season saw City capture the imagination with a dynamic brand of football, they claimed second in the Championship with just 61 goals.
That figure was the second lowest of the 30 sides promoted to the Premier League over the last decade, with only Birmingham in 2008-09 scoring fewer.
Steve Bruce has since landed ex-loan star George Boyd, Danny Graham and Yannick Sagbo this summer, with the trio complementing the existing threats of Matty Fryatt, Nick Proschwitz and the fit-again Sone Aluko.
Sagbo is in line for his first appearance since moving from Evian for £1.6m when City face Dynamo Dresden tomorrow.
"There's plenty of options for the manager now," said Quinn.
"It's vital getting Sone Aluko back fit. He was a top-class performer for us and it was a blow missing him for the second half of the year. He's the type of player that can do well at any level, I'm sure.
"We've got Danny Graham, who's done it before in the Premier League, and Nick Proschwitz and Matty Fryatt champing at the bit as well.
"With Yannick Sagbo in too it's turning into a good pre-season battle for those attacking spots.
"Hopefully all the boys can get a goal or two in the last few games and get a bit of confidence to take into the new season."
City travel to Germany today, looking to build on a 1-0 win over Peterborough on Monday.
After Dynamo Dresden tomorrow, only Tuesday's clash with Eintract Braunschweig and Real Betis at home next weekend remain before the Chelsea trip.
That will be the first of many games Bruce's men will enter as outsiders, but Quinn is content to take on the underdog mantle.
"To me it's looking bright. I was confident at the end of last season that we had a good enough squad (to survive) and the gaffer has made a few really good additions," Quinn added.
"It wasn't just a few games last season where we played well, we played consistently well. Some of the football we played was brilliant at times. There's no reason why we can't keep playing that way in the Premier League and, with the signings coming in and taking on board what we do, we can do well. People will write us off but we'll revel in that.
"We've been promoted and we're not the biggest club in the Premier League, but hopefully we can upset a few teams."
AS revealed on www.hulldailymail.co.uk yesterday, midfielder Tom Cairney has joined Blackburn on loan until January.
