HULL KR coach Craig Sandercock expects his side to be competitive at Wigan on Friday night despite missing six first-team regulars.
Already resigned to being without long-term absentees Kris Welham and Ryan O'Hara, Sandercock has also seen Graeme Horne, Cory Paterson, Alex Brown and George Griffin ruled out this week.
Griffin had been closing in on a return to first-team duties, but suffered a setback playing for Gateshead in their 36-30 win over South Wales Scorpions last weekend.
"There may be a couple of selection headaches for me with all those players out injured," Sandercock told the Mail.
"It's disappointing but that's rugby league. We've been missing players all season, maybe even more sometimes, and it is something we have got used to.
"It gives other players like Jordan Cox and Rhys Lovegrove a real opportunity in the team.
"There's no reason why we can't continue dealing with that adversity.
"We have to make sure we turn up at Wigan with a good attitude and hopefully we can be competitive."
O'Hara, one of the injured six, is to leave Rovers at the end of the season and sign for French side Lezignan after two seasons with the Robins.
The former New South Wales prop has been plagued with injuries, missing 37 of the 52 games played during his time at MS3 Craven Park, and has the sympathy of his coach.
"Ryan has been a thorough professional. I feel sorry for him not being able to lace on a boot for us this season," Sandercock said.
"He's a real leader and professional in everything he does.
"It's been a pleasure to have him around.
"It's a shame that he hasn't been able to play at all this season."
