HULL: A family escaped from a house fire after a pan of unattended food caught fire.
Emergency services were called to the house in Hall Road yesterday at about 12.53pm.
The food had been left on the cooker and caught fire before being put out before firefighters reached the address.
The pan had been removed by a neighbour entering the property via a kitchen window.
Humberside Fire and Rescue Service said five children and one woman left the property before emergency services arrived after the smoke detector was activated.
People are reminded to take extra care while cooking and not to leave pans unattended.

However, for replies from A&E patients, the trust came 51st out of 144.
