AN OUTRAGED resident is calling for action on a "dogging" hotspot located just metres from a children's play park.
A 58-year-old woman, who walks along the site off Livingstone Road in Hessle, says she regularly sees strangers meeting for sex.
The woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, said: "The last two or three years have been the worst I have ever known it and I've lived here for more than 30 years.
"Men are sometimes even queuing up during the day to meet up and go into the bushes.
"It is disgraceful. It is a public place.
"The skate park is next to where they meet."
The woman is especially concerned that people are even meeting up during the day when youngsters are using the skate park.
"It is hardly a good advert for the area," said the woman.
"People could visit Hull and then come to see the Humber Bridge and see people doing this.
"With the summer holidays there are more and more children using the skate park."
The woman said there were five or six wooded areas all joined together, which are currently overgrown.
"This dogging takes place along the river edge," she said.
"Something needs to be done, but I worry that if something is done, they will just move on to a different site in the area."
Anyone caught committing an offence at the site could face arrest and prosecution for indecent exposure, voyeurism or outraging public decency.
PC Andy White, of Kirk Ella Police Station, said: "We received the call about the problems and acted upon it.
"I went down to the site and spoke to a few people.
"It is not acceptable.
"I've been on to East Riding Council and they are going to cut the trees back.
"I would urge members of the public to get in touch if they see anything and take down any vehicle registration."
In the past, East Riding Council has increased the lighting around the skate park.
Anyone with information should call police on 101 or Kirk Ella station on 01482 307213.
