E YORKS: Yorkshire Wildlife Trust has launched a new scheme to get members of the public to record the wildlife they see.
WildWalks is a new online recording tool, established in partnership with the British Trust for Ornithology.
It allows users to log wildlife sightings and map records of plants and animals across East Yorkshire.
Terry Smithson, director of operations (North and East) for the trust, said: "We are very excited about WildWalks and hope it will appeal to everyone.
"Recording sightings will help us to map wildlife and, over time, monitor how it changes.
"Members of our local community, whether expert recorders or keen amateurs, will be able to help us better target our conservation efforts."
HULL: Pet owners can help train their dogs with free events.
Owners can guide their dogs through an obstacle course with tunnels, hoops and jumps.
The event is being organised by Pet Respect to help animals get fit and to learn basic obedience.
Children can also take part in the obstacle course.
The next event will take place on Thursday at Pickering Park with a similar event at East Park on Friday, August 9, both from 1pm to 3pm.
There will also be a tombola and pet information leaflets, while Hull City Council's health promotions officer will be attending.
Children under eight must be accompanied by an adult to take part in the agility games.
E RIDING: The Holderness Art Show will begin next month.
The event will be opened by international artist and sculptor Steve Winterburn at St Peter's and St Paul's Church in Burton Pidsea.
There will be a preview evening on Friday, August 30, from 7pm to 10pm, which is ticket only and costs £8.
The exhibition will then be open to the public on the Saturday and Sunday, from 10.30am to 4pm both days.
For information, call 01964 670269 or 01964 670610.
HOWDEN: The Hallgate Camerata will perform at the town's minster in September.
They will present Giachino Rossini's "Petite" Messe Solennelle with Matthew Collins on piano and Julian Savory on harmonium at the concert on Saturday, September 7.
It will take place from 7.30pm. Tickets cost £6 for adults and £5 for concessions.
Children under 16 can go in free with an accompanying adult.
Refreshments will be on sale before and during the concert.
E YORKS: As part of National Marine Week, a "mud magic" weekend will take place at Spurn.
Yorkshire Wildlife Trust will hold the event on Thursday, August 8, from noon to 2pm.
There will be a guided walk across the Humber mud flats at low tide, which opens up a whole new world.
Those taking part will learn more about why Humber mud is vital for wildlife and which plants and animals make it their home.
