Aaron Mclean and Cameron Stewart turned out for a Hull City XI at Grimsby Town.
Conor Townsend also featured as a young Tigers side went down 1-0 in the friendly at Blundell Park.
Mclean has opened talks with Barnsley over a possible move.
Stewart has also been told he can leave the KC this summer and has been linked with Charlton.
Both former first-team favourites showed flashes of good play - but Grimsby dominated much of the game and scored the only goal through a Lenell John-Lewis penalty after 20 minutes.
Captain Townsend received a warm welcome from the Grimsby crowd after his successful loan spell with the Mariners in 2011-12.
Striker Danny Chambers nearly gave City an early lead when he cut in from the left fired narrowly wide, before Matthew Dixon's powerful header forced a save from Town keeper Jonathan Hedge.
But City were second-best for much of the encounter and had stopper Joe Cracknell to thank for keeping the score to 1-0 when he denied Andy Cook a second-half goal.Hull XI: Cracknall, Topliss, Clappison, Aimson, Fallowfield, Dixon, Martin, Townsend, Stewart, McLean, Chambers.
