EAST HULL: A 51-year-old man has been killed after being thrown from his seat in a minibus.
He was a passenger in the white Renault Master as it travelled along Marfleet Lane from Hedon Road in Hull behind two other vehicles, possibly followed by a Land Rover and a silver hatchback.
The vehicles ahead of it were a silver convertible Mini with a black soft-top roof and a dark-coloured estate car.
The minibus braked sharply in response to a manoeuvre made by another vehicle, police believe.
None of the vehicles crashed but the passenger was thrown from his seat and taken to Hull Royal Infirmary by ambulance, where he died.
It happened on Sunday at 4.30pm in Marfleet Lane, Hull, beside the junction with Staveley Road. Anyone with information should call 101 and ask for PC 259 Lamswood on extension 1127.
E RIDING: A man was taken to hospital with flash and blast injuries to his face following a fire at the Carnaby Industrial Estate in Bridlington.
Firefighters were called to Dam Structures, Heron House, on the industrial estate on Thursday at 6.32pm.
The man, in his late 30s, was taken to Scarborough District General Hospital.
It took firefighters three hours to get the blaze under control. Humberside Fire and Rescue Service said one acetylene cylinder and an oxyacetylene cylinder were involved in the fire, and crews remained on the scene until about 9.30pm to ensure the cylinders were fully cooled.
The fire is said to have started accidentally.
E YORKS: Survey operations are being carried out at the mouth of the Humber for a fortnight from Monday.
Activity will centre on a 1,250m-wide corridor from Tetney High Sands on the South Bank out to 450m beyond the Tetney Monobuoy.
