EAST YORKS: Drawings from pupils at Snaith School have made their way to Prime Minister David Cameron as part of a national campaign.
The school has been taking part in the "Send my Friend to School" campaign, which aims to highlight how many children overseas do not receive a quality education as that offered here in the UK.
The pupils gave their drawings, with their ideal teaching attributes listed, to Goole MP Andrew Percy, who in turn handed them to the Prime Minister.
Mr Percy said: "It is great to read the correspondence and see young people campaigning for a better education on behalf of children all around the world.
"We take free education for granted in this country, and we should never lose sight of the fact that in many country free education is something that has to be fought for."
EAST YORKS: A new further education student loans system means adults enrolling on many courses at East Riding College from September will not have to pay their course fees up front.
The 24+ Advanced Learning Loans have been introduced by the government and apply to people aged 24 and over who are studying towards courses at level three and four, equivalent to A levels and the first year of a degree.
They are similar to higher education loans with low interest rates and the student does not have to begin paying their loan back until they are earning £21,000 per year.
Loans are not means-tested or subject to credit checks and are paid directly to the college.
For more information, call the college on 0845 120 0037 and ask to speak to a guidance officer.
