POLICE are appealing for witnesses after two holidaymakers were set upon and beaten outside a takeaway.
One of the two men who were attacked suffered a fractured eye socket, cheekbone and nose.
Both were on holiday in Withernsea when they were assaulted outside Prego's takeaway in Queen Street.
They had been followed by a man from the Pier Hotel to Harry's Bar and then the takeaway.
Police say there was a brief altercation outside Prego's before the suspect left the scene.
However, when the two men and their friend got into a taxi, the man returned and began punching one of them.
One of the others was assaulted when they got out of the taxi to intervene.
Both men suffered facial injuries and have been treated at Hull Royal Infirmary and Leeds General Infirmary.
It happened at around 2am on June 30.
The suspect is described as a white man who is around 6ft tall and aged between 19 and 21.
He had black spiky hair and was wearing a navy blue body warmer, dark jeans and navy and light blue Adidas trainers.
