A HESSLE man has been prosecuted for flytipping on land owned by Hull City Council.
A witness saw Ryan Gawthorpe, 22, dump rubbish on land at Kesteven Way in Hull.
He was interviewed by the Neighbourhood Nuisance Team and admitted what he had done.
Gawthorpe, of Barnetby Road in Hessle, was fined £250 and ordered to pay costs of £275.
Neighbourhood nuisance officer Jamie Cass said: "We are indebted to a witness in this instance in coming forward and offering their assistance and support to this investigation.
"We hope that this may encourage other residents in a similar situation to assist with our investigations."
Councillor John Hewitt, portfolio holder for neighbourhoods and communities, said: "This successful prosecution proves that Hull City Council is committed to working with residents to improve their neighbourhoods.
"We will thoroughly investigate and take appropriate action against any person or business that attempts to compromise that."
