Vince Cable said he remains "positive" Siemens will press ahead with its proposed wind turbine facility in Hull. This morning, the Business Secretary told the Mail his department was "in daily contact" with the company, which plans to build a £210m turbine assembly plant at Alexandra Dock in east Hull. Speaking about the energy giant's proposals, Mr Cable said: "I am still positive. We have been working very closely with Siemens and we are making a number of positive offers, within the rules of state aid." Dr Cable was in the city to officially open the Vivergo Fuels plant at Saltend before making his way to Hull College. He said Vivergo's biofuel plant was "good for the economy, good for the environment and good for local farmers."
