POLICE have released CCTV images of shoplifting suspects from across the East Riding.

Officers are appealing to Mail readers to identify the thieves who have been caught on camera.

Two bike thieves are also wanted by police.

Detective Inspector Joanne Roe, from Beverley CID, said: "I am hoping members of the public will be able to identify the people shown in the pictures and that, as a result of their assistance, suspects will be located and arrested.

"Officers would like to speak to the people seen in the images, who may be able to help with live police investigations and assist with their ongoing inquiries."

Police want to identify two men who are believed to have stolen vodka from Sainsbury's in King Street, Cottingham, on May 16.

It happened at about 4.25pm.

Det Insp Roe said: "One man entered the shop and took bottles of vodka from the shelf which he concealed in his jacket.

"The man was spotted by staff who chased him, but he got away on a bike.

"Shortly after this, another man entered the shop and took several bottles of vodka from the display and placed them in a carrier bag which he had brought with him.

"He left the store without offering to pay for the items.

"The two men are believed to know each other and may have worked together."

Officers also want to identify a man who is suspected of stealing electrical items from Boots in the Market Place in Hedon on April 26.

He is believed to have been working with another man, who distracted a shop assistant while he removed several items from the shelves and put them under his clothes.

Both men left the shop without paying. A man who stole a bike from outside Haltemprice Leisure Centre in Springfield Way, Anlaby, is also pictured.

The theft happened between 2.30pm and 5.30pm on April 23.

Another man is wanted for stealing a bike from Goole Leisure Centre on May 11. It was later recovered at Goole Railway Station.

Police believe another bike was taken from the train station on the same day.

Det Insp Roe said: "It is a great help when people put names to the faces and get in touch with us. We can then speak to those concerned and solve the offences."

Anyone with information about the identity of any of the people pictured should call Humberside Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
