HULL KR stand-off Travis Burns believes Rovers' five-game winning streak can be tracked back to the moment they lost the Magic Weekend derby.
Ever since video referee Steve Ganson wrongly allowed Chris Green's try to stand, giving Hull a 22-16 win, Rovers have swept aside all before them.
And while yesterday's win over Salford might not have been their best display, Burns says keeping that unbeaten run going is all that matters.
"I think that decision in Manchester was the turning point of our season," Burns told the Mail.
"Ever since that decision we have turned the corner and I hope it continues from there. I don't know about thanking Steve Ganson, but we have taken the positive out of a bad situation.
"We all saw the call, we can't dwell on that, but it gave us some fire to improve and everyone has played well since then."
Those five wins have helped Rovers consolidate their place in the top six.
Burns felt his side would be there or thereabouts at the start of the season and believes they can go ahead of Catalan who are currently one place above them on points difference.
"I thought if we played to our potential we'd have a chance of chasing fifth spot," Burns said.
"We're not far off that at the moment.
"We'll get Sean Gleeson back and Ryan O'Hara's not too far away and we'll be near full strength, with the exception of Kris Welham.
"We've shown on our day that we can be a match for any team.
"We turned up against Salford thinking it was just going to happen though and you can't do that to any team in this competition because they make you look silly."
Burns was very critical of his side's performance against Salford despite picking up another two points.
Repeatedly dropping the ball coming out of their own half, a better side would have punished KR more ruthlessly, and Burns says they can't afford a repeat, especially with Warrington up next.
"Our completion rate in the first half was 28 per cent and that is diabolical," Burns said.
"It's just not good enough.
"We are disappointed with that performance.
"We did enough to get the two points and we're happy with five wins from five.
"We're not over the moon with the performance though and we don't want to put in another performance like that.
"Against better sides, we'll get 50 points put on us."
Burns may not have been pleased about his side's attack, but he was delighted to have kept the Reds to just three tries, as again KR showed how far they have come in defence.
"Our attack was ordinary, We didn't click or gel and the unforced errors killed us," he said.
"But we have to take the good with the bad. Our defence was good to keep them to just three tries and one of them was from a kick.
"We are in good form winning six from our last seven games. We need to continue that."
