HULL City will complete the signing of Scotland goalkeeper Allan McGregor in the next 24 hours, allowing him to join the squad for the first day of pre-season training on Thursday.
The Tigers will reunite to start preparations for their Premier League campaign with squad strengthening now picking up pace at the KC Stadium.
McGregor, 31, held talks at the KC Stadium last week and agreed the terms of his switch from Turkish side Besiktas.
The final details were set to be signed off on the £1.8m transfer today, taking City's off-season spending to the region of £6m.
McGregor follows Birmingham defender Curtis Davis and last season's loanees George Boyd and Ahmed Elmohamady in signing for the Tigers this summer, with defenders Liam Rosenior and James Chester also last week agreeing new contracts to stay.
The Tigers return for training and pre-season fitness tests this Thursday ahead of opening their friendly fixtures at North Ferriby on July 15.
Manager Steve Bruce will hope to have more new faces in place by then, with the focus on securing a striker top of his priorities in that time.
Celtic's Gary Hooper and Burnley's Charlie Austin remain on City's wish-list, but only if deals less than £5m can be agreed.
Despite each turning down City's initial offer, both clubs remain willing to negotiate, with progress made in talks with Celtic on Hooper over the past week.
City have also expressed an interest in Norwich striker Grant Holt although no official offer has yet been made.
