HULL FC's Ben Galea says his side is ready to 'right the wrongs' of the past two weeks after doing some serious soul searching in training this week.
The Black and Whites have seen a recent run of good form go off the rails with back-to-back losses at Catalan and Castleford.
Having won nine of their 10 previous games in the league and cup, it has left many asking what has gone wrong all of a sudden.
But Galea, in his last season before retirement, says Hull's problems date back longer than the past fortnight, with the former NRL Grand Final winner believing the side's attitude has been the problem.
"Our form hasn't been fantastic for five or six weeks now," Galea admitted.
"We have had a good game here and there, but overall I think we are not really happy with the way we are playing at the moment so we have had a good look at ourselves this week.
"It has been a really tough week at training, we have got our heads down and worked really hard and hopefully we can right some wrongs this week.
"I don't know if it is coming off the back of the high of the nine or 10 good weeks we had in a row. Maybe we have just dropped off a little bit and I think it is more of an attitude thing.
"We need to regroup and refocus on the last eight competition rounds now."
With eight Super League games remaining, Hull remain well placed for an assault on the top four.
But Galea says any thoughts of glory have to be put aside, with the focus purely placed on finding their form again.
"I think we have some issues to worry about before we focus on that. Obviously we haven't played well as a team," he said.
"Last week was a game we were expected to win, especially after the poor performance at Catalan when we should have reacted better. We let in a lot of soft tries against Castleford, which is not what we want to be known for as a team.
"The last couple of weeks have probably been a good wake-up call. It has been the kick up the butt that we have needed. We have learned our lessons from that and can start moving forward again.
"We have a tough run home, but we also have a lot of home games and we have to make the most of it.
"We face Wakefield first and they are playing really well at the moment. A lot of their players are in form and, so we are expecting a really tough game and we are going to have to be at our best to win.
