HULL City have today confirmed they have completed the £2m signing of winger Ahmed Elmohamady from Sunderland on a three-year deal at the KC Stadium.
The 25-year-old Egyptian star was a huge hit at the Tigers last season as he scooped the player of the season award in City's promotion-winning campaign.
Although there has been some delay in finally agreeing terms over the summer, mainly due to Elmohamady being away on international duty, he told the Mail he had always intended to complete his move to the KC, despite interest from other clubs in recent weeks.
"I am delighted to be staying on here and looking forward to playing in the Premier League for Hull City next season," Elmohamady told the Mail.
"I really enjoyed playing here last season, and it proved to be a great move for me. There is a real friendship between the players, and that is why we were successful last season, as we all want to do well for one another.
"It is a tough step up to the Premier League, but I am sure we can be successful and be one of the top sides in time."
Elmohamady signed his deal at the KC Stadium yesterday afternoon, with the club awaiting international clearance before finally officially announcing the deal today.
He follows new signings Maynor Figueroa and Curtis Davies as new additions to Steve Bruce's squad over the summer so far.
George Boyd has also completed his permanent move from Peterborough after last season's loan, while James Chester has signed a new three-year deal, and Liam Rosenior a two-year contract to remain at the club.
Scotland goalkeeper Allan McGregor is expected to be the next new face confirmed as the Tigers step up their recruitment.• Tomorrow's Game On - free in the Mail - will feature an in-depth interview with Elmohamady.
