POLICE officers have been sacked for being dishonest, disrespectful and failing to carry out their duties.
One PC and one sergeant were dismissed last year after internal disciplinary procedures.
The Mail understands one of the officers was sacked for taking a police car for personal use.
Humberside Police would not reveal the specific reasons for the disciplinary actions, instead providing broad headings the allegations came under.
Humberside police and crime commissioner Matthew Grove said members of the public expect police to behave properly.
Last year, the PC was sacked after one allegation of discreditable conduct and another relating to authority, respect and courtesy.
The sergeant faced five allegations, two for failing to meet duties and responsibilities, two relating to honesty and integrity and one of discreditable conduct.
A further 23 officers were disciplined and were given written warnings or management advice.
The most senior officer to face disciplinary action last year was a chief inspector, who was given management advice for issues around "orders and instructions".
Mr Grove said: "The people of East Yorkshire and Northern Lincolnshire rightly expect their police officers to behave with the highest levels of integrity and conduct.
"I am reassured that the very small number of officers who fall short of the required standards are sought out and dealt with robustly."
Details revealed following a request under the Freedom of Information Act show 159 officers were subjected to internal disciplinary action between 2008 and 2012.
The highest was in 2011, when 36 officers were investigated.
Then, three PCs were dismissed and one inspector resigned after complaints about their conduct.
The inspector was facing eight allegations, six of failing to meet duties and responsibilities, discreditable conduct and issues around equality and diversity.
A superintendent was given management advice for breaching confidentiality, while a chief inspector received a written warning for "authority, respect and courtesy".
A further 30 officers were disciplined by being given warnings, reprimands or management advice.
Superintendent Ray Higgins, head of Humberside Police's professional standards unit, said: "At Humberside Police we expect our officers to behave professionally and appropriately in the course of their duty.
"Occasionally, behaviour of officers does fall below the expected level and that is why we have a specially trained team in force who investigate complaints and where necessary officers are disciplined accordingly."
