CRAIG Sandercock says he is delighted to have built a squad which is "100 per cent committed to Hull KR" for the coming Super League season.

It comes as the Robins are currently in Tenerife for their warm-weather camp to prepare for the 2013 campaign.

Eight new faces will take part in a key week of preparations, with two training sessions held each day as Rovers step up their pre-season.

Chairman Neil Hudgell hit out at the desire and commitment of some players at the end of last season, following the club's 10th-place finish.

But Sandercock is confident that's an issue which has been addressed, having formed a young, talented and hungry squad for the year ahead.

"The pleasing thing about this squad is that every one of them really wants to be here," the Robins coach told the Mail.

"Every player we have signed is here for the right reasons. Travis Burns could have got significantly more money at another club but he chose us.

"They are players that really want to be here.

"The fans will see a team 100 per cent committed to Hull KR."

The week in Tenerife forms a key part of pre-season for the Robins, as they are able to make the best of the warm weather to squeeze in extra sessions.

Having had just two of his own signings in the squad when preparing for last season, Sandercock admits KR will have more of his own stamp this year, with players he has scouted personally and brought to the club.

"This is my squad," he said. "Last year was my squad too because I was the head coach, but every player we have signed I personally know or I've done a lot of research on.

"It takes time to change systems, structures and cultures. It seems to be the buzz word in rugby these days, but this pre-season has been a pleasure and there has been no selfishness."

Having flown out on Saturday, Rovers will enjoy a break for Christmas on their return to the UK, ahead of pre-season friendlies against Wigan and Hull in the New Year.

It is then that fans will get an impression of what to expect from KR this coming season, and although not wishing to make any bold predictions, Sandercock says he can guarantee one thing.

"We'll turn up with a good attitude every week and give 100 per cent effort every game.

"The team unity has impressed me a lot so far.

"Everybody is training hard and the players can see there is a lot of opportunities there for them and they are all doing the right things."
