PETER Gentle says it is getting easier to attract players to Hull FC as he continues his squad building for 2014.

It has this week been confirmed by Hull KR chairman Neil Hudgell that Hull have signed Robins prop Mickey Paea, a notable addition as he is one of Super League's form forwards.

FC are also understood to have lured Castleford's Jordan Thompson away, with more recruits to follow.

Having already brought Jacob Miller in from the NRL to add to Gareth Ellis, Shannon McDonnell and Daniel Holdsworth, Gentle is confident Hull now have a lot to offer.

"I think our recruitment has been very good since I've been here and we know what we want," he told the Mail.

"We have a lot to offer as a club and I think Hull FC is now attractive to other players to come here. It is not as tough as it was, trying to get players to come here."

Hull have stressed they will not be making wholesale changes ahead of next season, with Gentle's focus on tweaking his squad given the departures of a number of senior names.

Danny Tickle, Tom Briscoe, Mark O'Meley and Ben Galea, a core group of key figures, will all leave at the end of the season.

But Gentle says knowing in advance has made his job of reshaping the squad easier.

"We have been looking at our recruitment since last year and we are gradually building the squad. There is a good progression there," he added.

"In terms of planning, we have known for quite some time Danny Tickle was going, we know Ben Galea and Mark O'Meley are going.

"That's some of our senior group, but we have a lot of young players stepping up like Joe Westerman and Liam Watts who are in their mid-twenties.

"We are conscious of not being too old and not being too young. That's part of the progression plan, it's about setting us up for the future."
