Daily transfer rumours from the press as Hull City prepare for life in the Premier League. It's the weekend and the agents have been busy…but just wait for the fans to be hit tomorrow when the Sundays get into gear! Steve Bruce looks to have got his man in Maynor Figueroa on a two-year deal. Several news outlets are stating this as fact but the club – although openly keen – have yet to confirm officially. However, if the 30-year-old Honduran versatile defender sign from Wigan Athletic and join Bruce for the second time, fans can look forward to at least one spectacular goal from half-way next season. The other 'nearly there' signing is keeper Allan McGregor from Turkish side Besitkas. The former Rangers player is keen to sign apparently, which is the sort of player Tigers need. This is not a season for mercenaries with escape clauses. This deal DOES look done. However, we do need strength in depth between the sticks and the name of Mark Schwarzer is being linked with the Tigers. The 40-year-old Aussie is available on a free after quitting Fulham and may be happy with one more season in the big time. Meanwhile, last season's stopper David Stockdale seems determined to fight for his place at Craven Cottage, despite the fact they have signed Dutch international Maarten Stekelenburg. He has said: "I've been trying to get back fit and getting ready for Fulham's next campaign. I'm a Fulham player. This is the first year I'm not worried about my future because there's not much going on. I'm just going to relax and enjoy my holiday, keep fit and prepare for another chapter at Fulham." The lad will get a flat backside if he sits on benches much longer! Elsewhere, it would appear that Arouna Kone has finally priced himself out of a move from Wigan; Celtic are sticking religiously to their £7m price tag for Gary Hooper which would seem a bit steep for someone unproven at Premier League level and despite growing traction on Facebook and Twitter is hard to see the club being interested in Darren Bent who is at a loose end at Aston Villa. The former Sunderland and Tottenham player is now 29 and a 15-20 goal a season top striker in his pomp. However, those years now seem behind him and wages of £70K would make even the most optimistic supporter choke – as Bent has been known to do in front of goal.
