Two men were injured and taken to hospital with facial injuries after an apparent daylight assault on a city centre street.
Part of Russell Street was closed to the public for more than two hours after the trouble, which saw the pair in an altercation with two other men.
An ambulance was called to the scene at 3.30pm on Thursday and both casualties were taken to hospital. One man is a 28-year-old and the other is 25, police said.
A police cordon was in place until after 5pm, where Russell Street ends next to Freetown Way.
At least one police car and a scientific investigation van attended to collect evidence.
No arrests have been made and neither man's injuries were life threatening.
