A new £7m pedestrian bridge over the River Hull is still not ready to be opened to the public.
The long-delayed crossing was originally scheduled to open last year but has been dogged by a series of technical problems.
Councillor Martin Mancey, cabinet portfolio holder for transport on Hull City Council, said although the bridge had formally been handed over to the authority, responsibility for a resolution to the technical problems lay with bridge-funders the Homes and Communities Agency and its contractors.
He said he understood there were still a number of design issues to be resolved before any opening date could be announced.
