CELTIC youngster Tony Watt has urged fellow striker Gary Hooper not to quit the Hoops this summer. Hooper has been linked with a move south of the border, with Hull City the latest club to join the race for his signature according to media reports in Scotland. The forward showed once again why he is attracting attention by netting a double in Sunday's William Hill Scottish Cup final against Hibernian, as Celtic claimed a domestic double. But although Watt would be happy to take over the scoring duties, he does not want Hooper to leave ahead of the new campaign. "I would like to see him stay because he is a big player for us and scores a lot of goals," he said. "You can't really buy that unless you're paying £10m or £15m for a player." Hooper, who scored 31 goals last season, is one of Celtic's prized assets. Talks over a contract extension have stalled with the 25-year-old understood to want wages on a par with captain Scott Brown, who is believed to earn £25,000-a-week. A move to the Premier League would interest Hooper, who began his career in non-league football. Norwich City bid £6m for Hooper in January but it is believed a deal was turned down because of the way it was structured, and an upfront fee of £4m may tempt Celtic to sell.
