HULL KR captain Michael Dobson says he'll be rallying his troops in a bid to ensure they suffer no derby hangover this weekend.
The Aussie scrum-half admits the heart-breaking nature of Saturday's loss to Hull FC will be hard for the Robins players to shake off.
But he says as captain, he'll be telling them to focus on the positives and go into the contest with Bradford Bulls in a positive frame of mind.
"As captain I'll tell the players to keep their heads up because our effort was outstanding," Dobson told the Mail.
"That's the effort we have to be showing every week from now on.
"The Bradford game is massive because they are one of the teams around us in the table.
"We need to beat them if we want to sneak into the top eight, but we're at home and we are confident of reproducing that performance."
Casting his eye back to the 22-16 loss, Dobson, who has called for the introduction of two officials to make video-refereeing decisions, has taken a philosophical view of the events at the Etihad Stadium.
Twelve months earlier, he and Rovers benefited from a forward pass by Rhys Lovegrove which went unnoticed by officials and helped Rovers snatch victory in similar circumstances.
Many FC fans have said it was a case of the scores being levelled, and Dobson admits it has crossed his mind that his side was made to pay for last year.
"It makes you start to wonder about karma. They got one back on us for last season," he said.
"I thought karma got its own back on us at the back end of last season many times, but that's the way it goes.
"Credit to Hull for snatching victory late like we did to them last year.
"That last set we kept them to their 40 metre line and if it had been a penalty to us like it should have been, we'd have had a chance to kick it and win the game.
"Hull had the running in the last 10 minutes but we were hanging in and dug deep.
"If we show great character like that for the next 12 matches we'll win more games than we lose."
