STEPHEN Quinn admits all his footballing dreams will be realised if a long-awaited Republic of Ireland debut comes against England tomorrow.
After helping Hull City to promotion to the Premier League, Quinn has been rewarded for an excellent season with a late call-up to Giovanni Trapattoni's squad, joining team-mates Paul McShane, David Meyler and Robbie Brady.
Although previously winning a senior call-up seven years ago, the former under-21s star is yet to earn his first international cap.
That wait could end when the Republic face England at Wembley tomorrow, and Quinn believes there would be no better stage to enjoy his career pinnacle.
"It would be the proudest moment of my career to pull on that green jersey," Quinn told the Mail.
"To do that at Wembley against England would be even better. I'll just look to get my head down in training and try to catch the manager's eye.
"It's something I've been dreaming about for a long, long time. I made it into a squad (in 2007) and travelled with the team but didn't get that first cap.
"It's been a long wait to get back here so please God I can get the chance this time."
Quinn only learned of his call-up on Sunday afternoon after initially being overlooked for Ireland's four end-of-season internationals.
Injury to Leeds United midfielder Paul Green has forced the 27-year-old to cut short his summer holiday and yesterday he trained under Trapattoni for the first time.
"It's been an unbelievable year for me," he added.
"Coming to Hull and winning promotion with such a great set of lads has been fantastic.
"My missus is also due our first child in the next two weeks, so this just tops it off."
