PROTESTORS have taken to the streets of Beverley on horseback to voice their opposition against plans to axe Humberside Police's mounted section.
Around 100 campaigners were involved in the march, from Beverley Racecourse into Saturday Market.
The force says it has to axe the section as it battles to cut £11m from its budget over five years.
But campaigners argue the horses are crucial for maintaining order at major events, such as football matches.
No arrests were made at today's peaceful protest.
