Hull Kingston Rovers are close to securing investment with new financial backers that will ensure the club stays in Super League.
Robins owners Neil Hudgell and Rob Crossland revealed last month they were no loner prepared to bankroll the club beyond this season.
Now, sources have told the Mail a number of new locally based investors - possibly sponsors - are close to agreeing terms which will see them join the board.
The new investors would work alongside Mr Hudgell and Mr Crossland, who have agreed to stay on for now.
