HULL City stalwart Andy Dawson says he will speak to manager Steve Bruce about the options open to him before cutting ties with the club he has served for 10 years.
The 34-year-old has celebrated his fourth promotion with the Tigers this season as Bruce's men secured their place in the Premier League.
Having made just four appearances in the Championship this season, and now out of contract, Dawson accepts his playing days at City are over.
But, keen to move into coaching, he is eager to see if any possible role is available at the KC Stadium.
"I have to speak to the gaffer in terms of what I am going to do and there is a lot of talking and decisions to be made," said Dawson.
"I am sure playing wise I'm not going to be a player at this club next year. I can understand that, but it's about the options I've got
"Coaching is something that I want to do in the long term, it's just whether I stop playing now.
"I believe that maybe I've got a few years left playing, but I've got a big big decision to make over the next few weeks."
Dawson says whatever course his career takes from next season, his time at the Tigers will be forever cherished.
"I have been privileged and honoured to be part of four promotions, it has been fantastic," he said.
"Any decision I make will be hard because to be part of Hull City for 10 years has been amazing.
"It is fantastic to get back to the Premier League and it is nothing more than the club, the management, the owners and the players deserve."
THE Tigers have confirmed their first three friendly matches ahead of next season, all away, at North Ferriby (July 15), Birmingham (July 27) and Peterborough (July 29).
