IT WAS the moment thousands of Hull City fans had been waiting for after months of battling and a nail-biting finale.
A deafening cheer rang out across the KC Stadium last night as players held medals and a trophy aloft after securing automatic promotion to the Premier League.
Players carried out a lap of honour around the pitch, accompanied by manager Steve Bruce and owners Assem and Ehab Allam.
Steve Bruce thanked Tigers fans who had roared his team onto success.
He said: "All who witnessed Saturday's game will never forget those last few moments. Those last 12 minutes were arguably the longest in my life.
"I hope the fans have enjoyed the season. They are a terrific set of fans and I'm pleased for them that we got over the finish line."
