Assem Allam has praised Hull City's fans after the club won promotion to the Premier League this afternoon. A jubilant Dr Allam thanked supporters after the Tigers secured second place in the Championship and automatic promotion. He said: "Sealing promotion is one of my proudest moments of my life without doubt but it is all for the fans and the community. Without them we couldn't have done it. "To be able to achieve this for the whole of Hull and the East Riding is something I am very proud of." Dr Allam and his son Ehab arrived at the KC Stadium in 2010 with the team facing financial crisis. Three years later, the Tigers are preparing to compete once again in the world's most competitive and lucrative league. Dr Allam said: "All of the investment and now the promotion is not about personal achievement. It is for the supporters and the community of Hull. "The supporters deserve a successful club and that is what we will try and deliver. "There is a feel-good factor in Hull that the results of the club has created and I think that has shown." City's revenue could be boosted by at least £120m thanks to promotion. Financial consultants Deloitte said clubs promoted from the Championship could expect a revenue increase of more than £60m in 2013-14 - the vast majority from the Premier League's lucrative new TV deal. Even if the Tigers are relegated after a single season, they will receive parachute payments of around £60m over four years. More than half of teams promoted over the past decade have survived their first season. The Allams inherited around £35m of debt when they took over the club. But while his money brought City back from the brink of financial meltdown, Dr Allam said the Tigers' supporters played a crucial role in rebuilding the club. "The fan have given the club so much support," he said. "I am very grateful to them. I have done it all for the fans and it is fantastic to see them backing the team. "It is like giving someone a present. You want to give them what they want and hopefully I have."More on Hull City's promotion
