MICKEY Paea says Hull KR have told him they want him to stay on beyond the end of his current deal – but he is yet to make a decision on his future.
The 27-year-old's two-year deal expires at the end of this season, and he is now open to offers from rival clubs for next season and beyond following the passing of the anti-tampering deadline.
Given his excellent form for the Robins, resulting in a call up to the Exiles squad to face England, Paea is certain to attract interest from across the game.
And despite saying he would like to remain at the Robins, the Tongan international admits the current uncertainty around the club is a concern.
"They have indicated that they are keen to have me stay on, but as yet nothing has been taken further," Paea told the Mail.
"It has been in the back of my mind if I am honest and I have just been thinking about playing good footy.
"I am a big believer that if you are playing well, somebody will be looking and watching and that will look after itself.
"I am yet to sit down with my manager and discuss options, whether it is an option to stay here or go back home.
"I am open to everything, but it would be great to stay at this great club. We have some good kids coming through and we could be anything in the next couple of years."
Asked if the ongoing uncertainty over the club's future was a worry, Paea said: "Yes and no, if I am honest.
"We hear stuff in the media and read it in the paper and I don't know what that is, whether it is what it is or whether they are trying to get new people on board.
"As I said, I am just focusing on what I have control of and that's my performances every week. If you get that right then the reward will come."
Paea is one of a long list of players coming out of contract, and with owners Neil Hudgell and Rob Crossland saying they will not bankroll the club next season, rival clubs have already been sniffing for top players.
It has already seen an informal enquiry from St Helens about the availability of captain Michael Dobson rebuffed.
The Mail understands Salford have also asked about Dobson, as well as Aussie second row Cory Paterson this week, only to be told they are not available at present.
Paea says the issue has not been discussed by players as a group, and says he would like to see all key stars remain, and KR build for the future.
"We don't discuss it as a group, but maybe yes we do individually," he admitted.
"I'd like to be around. The likes of Michael Dobson, Cory Paterson and Kris Welham are guys the club plan to have around. This club could be competing with anyone in a couple of years' time."
