HESSLE: A book sale is being held this weekend to raise money for The Epilepsy Charity.

The sale, which has been organised by the town's charity shop, will take place from 10am to 3pm on Saturday in Hessle Square.

Paperbacks will be on sale for 50p or three for £1, while hardbacks will be £1 each.

All proceeds will go to the charity.

Staff at the store are also appealing for stock, including books, clothing and bric-a-brac.

HULL: Teams of four are being invited to enter the Dove House Hospice golf tournament.

It will be held at Brough Golf Club on Friday, June 21.

Following the tournament, there will be a black-tie presentation dinner at Willerby Manor with entertainment from Snow Patrol and Chrysalis Discos.

The Love you 2 Appeal needs to raise £2.5m to help redevelop the hospice site in Chamberlain Road, east Hull.

It will mean the hospice will be able to expand the services it offers.

The cost of entering a team is £375, for four people to play golf and eight to attend the evening dinner.

Non-golfers are also welcome to go to the dinner, with places available at £37.50 per person.

HULL: A coffee morning to raise money for St John Ambulance is being held on Friday.

The event will take place at the Unitarian Church in Park Street from 10am to noon.
