Hull City captain Robert Koren will miss tonight's visit of Bristol City after being ruled out for 10 days with a calf strain.
The Slovenian playmaker lasted less than half an hour in Tuesday's 1-0 loss at Wolves and has turned his focus on returning to face Barnsley a week tomorrow.
Koren's absence has left the door open for Matty Fryatt to start his first Championship game in almost 12 months.
Manager Steve Bruce hinted that Fryatt will be in his thoughts after two substitute appearances in the last week, and he may be given the nod to partner George Boyd.
Bruce also admitted he is giving thought to recalling Paul McShane.
The defender was a surprise inclusion on the subs bench at Molineux, but the City boss says McShane is fit enough to start should he choose to shake up his back three.
Egyptian striker Gedo may also be fit enough to return to the bench after missing the last two games with a foot injury.
The on-loan forward participated in training yesterday to push his claims to be part of the action tonight.
Joe Dudgeon (knee), Alex Bruce (Achilles) and Sone Aluko (Achilles) will again be frustrated onlookers.
Sean O'Driscoll will hope to welcome back two key players as he attempts to notch his first away win as Bristol City boss tonight.
Central defender Liam Fontaine (ankle) and midfielder Marvin Elliott (back) both missed Tuesday's defeat to Birmingham City, but it is hoped both will be able to return at the KC Stadium.
The Robins will attempt to lift the gloom hanging over the club since relegation was confirmed in midweek and manager O'Driscoll will point to the continued absence of several influential figures as a contributory factor in their demise.
Strike pairing Jon Stead (groin) and Ryan Taylor (collarbone) have both been missing of late and though they are back in training, it is unlikely either will be involved this evening.
Cole Skuse, the central midfielder, is another man out. A knee ligament problem has needed surgery, ruling him out for the remainder of the season.
O'Driscoll is not blessed with a glut of options but does have several danger men for City to contend with.
Former Tigers' youth product Paul Anderson, wideman Albert Adomah and Sam Baldock, scorer of 10 goals this season, can all cause problems given half a chance.
