CORY Paterson insists Hull KR fans have no cause for fear after it was revealed he has a clause in his contract making him a free agent if coach Craig Sandercock leaves.
The Aussie second-rower followed Sandercock to the Robins on a two-year deal, having worked with him at NRL club Newcastle.
The 25-year-old admitted on Twitter last week that the clause had been included when he signed his contract before the start of this season.
But speaking to the Mail, Paterson insisted he is happy at Rovers, and that whilst that remains the case, he will stay.
"If I'm happy next year, I'll stay," Paterson said when asked about his future.
"I just answered a question truthfully on Twitter. I didn't go out and brag about it.
"I have great loyalty for Craig but in saying that I'm having a great time here and I love the place.
"I'm enjoying playing for Rovers and I don't know why a big fuss has been made of it.
"I'm happy here and that's all that matters.
"There is a lot of water to flow under the bridge before then though, and we'll wait and see."
At present, helping Rovers through to the next round of the Challenge Cup by beating St Helens at MS3 Craven Park on Saturday is top of Paterson's priorities .
And he also revealed he could yet put his hand up to play for England at some stage, as his mother was born here.
"I'm not sure yet if I want to put my hand up for England or whether I play for the Exiles, but it would be very special to play for England as my mother was born and bred here in England," he said.
"In saying that, I wouldn't want to take the place of someone like Liam Farrell who has grown up here, as he deserves it more than I would."
