Controversial café-bar plan for Princes Avenue houses

Plans to turn two historic houses in Princes Avenue into a café bar have been submitted.

Agent Ettridge Architecture Ltd wanted to convert the buildings at 10-12 Princes Avenue, west Hull, into a restaurant with more than 100 seats.

But the application was turned down by Hull City Council's planning committee in February by just one vote.

Now, a new application has been submitted for the cafe bar which has left out a side extension and created more parking spaces.

The two Victorian properties set to be converted were originally homes for workers at the former Botanic railway station.

The council's planning committee will consider the application next month.
