HE NORMALLY saves his fancy footwork for the rugby field as he sprints down the wing in front of thousands of fans.
But Hull FC's Tom Lineham has shown off his cheeky side after taking part in a Strictly ballroom dancing event for his teammate Kirk Yeaman.
Swapping shirts for sequins, the Hull FC stars found trying their hand at ballroom dancing a real cha cha challenge.
Fans packed out Hull City Hall on Tuesday night to see their heroes in a completely different light as they took to the dance floor.
The event was the latest part of long-serving player Kirk Yeaman's testimonial year at the club and follows on from his X-mas Factor show in December.
Not surprisingly, Yeaman won the contest and, while the evening was all about him, he was almost upstaged by Lineham's revealing performance.
Lineham said: "I am not the best dancer and I don't move around with any grace. I had to think of a way to try to disguise my terrible dancing.
"I thought it would provide far more comedy to wear a revealing outfit to win over the crowd."
It almost worked as he and partner Amy Humble scored a very respectable 38 out of 40 by the judges, which included teammate Danny Tickle.
But he failed to reach the final which was contested between Yeaman, with partner Lamahra Draper, and James Cunningham, with partner Jodee Sylvester.
Lineham said: "It was great fun and my dance partner has been brilliant.
"Kirk deserves this night. He is a great crowd favourite and popular with the players and the coaches.
"He has done wonders for Hull FC and has been a great servant."
Called Strictly Yeamo, the event is one of the last of Yeaman's testimonial events as the centre celebrates 12 years in the Hull first team.
Yeaman, 29, was joined by five of his teammates, including FC captain Danny Houghton, Richard Horne, Tom Briscoe.
The group had been put through their paces for the past two months in the build-up to the big day.
The England international was keen to stage his own version of the BBC's Saturday night hit television show Strictly Come Dancing.
He said: "It was a brilliant night and a totally different experience.
"I was far more nervous stepping on to the dance floor than I ever have been stepping on to the pitch as I was out of my comfort zone.
"This hasn't been done before in Hull and I thought it would be something different. It worked really well.
"All the lads have been fantastic learning their routines.
"The crowd were also brilliant and turned out in numbers.
"The past 12 years have flown by and hopefully I will finish my career here."
The former Great Britain player is Hull's record try-scorer in the Super League era but is currently out the side after breaking his thumb in a game.
Professional dancer David Barnes, who was also a judge, had the unenviable task of training the rugby stars.
But he was impressed with their attitude and ability.
He said: "They were tough to train at first but when they realised how hard it was, they buckled down.
"I was really pleased with the way they all danced on the night and they all put in their best performance.
"I think they respect dancing a bit more.
"The girls also worked incredibly hard and put so much work to make the night a success."
There will be a golf dinner and a finale dinner later in the year which will mark the end of the testimonial celebrations for Yeaman.
