Beverley welcomed the Rugby League World Cup trophy today (Tuesday).
The famous trophy was on display at the Beverley Leisure Complex for sporting enthusiasts, rugby fans and residents to view.
It is currently touring the UK in the build up to Rugby League World Cup 2013, which takes place in England and Wales, from 28 October to 30 November.
On display at the home of Beverley's own rugby league club, Beverley ARLFC, visitors had the opportunity to have their photograph taken with the trophy.
Nine-year-old Joshua Hilton, from Tickton was one of the first people to have his photograph with the famous trophy.
The youngster, who plays rugby for Skirlaugh Bulls and supports Hull FC said: "I was really excited to see the trophy and get my picture taken.
The Macintyre family from Holderness Road in Hull, also visited Beverley to witness the trophy on display.
Van Macintyre said: "We as a family are huge supporters of Hull KR, and missed the opportunity to see the trophy in Hull yesterday so came to Beverley today.
"It's excellent to see it so close up."
Councillor Richard Burton, cabinet holder for civic, wellbeing and culture was also at Beverley Leisure Complex to welcome the trophy, describing the event as a "fantastic day for the town".
In the past 12 months, Beverley has also welcomed the Olympic Torch, the Paralympic Lantern and now the Rugby trophy.
Guy Adams, coach of Beverley ARLFC said: "Rugby League is thriving in the town, with the open-age team making significant strides in the Hull and District Division One competition and the youth sides displaying fantastic performances week-in week-out. Beverley ARLFC are committed to developing the young players of the future, and are confident that a number of players coming through the ranks with the Braves youth set-up will have the potential to get their hands on the World Cup trophy in years to come."
