THE crew of a fishing trawler had to be rescued after the vessel capsized in Bridlington harbour.
Humber Coastguard was called at 9.30am this morning after the Serene trawler lost power.
Three of the ship's four-man crew were rescued while the skipper remained on board with a member of the coastguard to try to rescue the vessel.
Andy Brompton, a spokesman for Bridlington RNLI, said: "Serene came into difficulty off South Pier at Bridlington when its propeller failed and was being pushed ashore.
"Humber Coastguard were called out and took three of the crew off the vessel while the skipper and a member of the coastguard stayed on board to bail out water."
None of the crew were injured.
The trawler later sank as the tide came in. It was not clear if it could be salvaged.
