Plans have been unveiled for a £40m gigantic "mirrorball" building to attract visitors to Hull.
Author, artist and lecturer Mark Wigan founded the Museum of Club Culture three years ago at a redundant fruit warehouse on Humber Street.
Now he and fellow artistic director Kerry Baldry want to build a massive sphere which would rotate, sparkling in the sun and glowing at night with video and film projections. f
The pair believe a redundant car park close to Humber Street, could make a good site and are applying to the Heritage Lottery Fund.
The globe would also house a retro café, merchandise shop, cinema and a research and education hub for music, fashion and nightclub-related art and design.
