AS ONE of TV's most flamboyant personalities, he is well used to being in the spotlight.
Now, Louie Spence is set to take centre stage at a fashion event in Hull.
The former Pineapple Dance Studios star has been unveiled as the first big act to take part in Princes Quay's spring fashion show.
The 43-year-old dancer, who shot to fame on the Sky One show in 2010, will co-host the event on Saturday, May 4, with radio station DJs from Viking FM.
He will help to entertain the city's fashionistas by providing a live commentary of the celebrity catwalk show at the shopping mall in Hull city centre.
Louie, a former judge on ITV's Dancing On Ice, is also rumoured to be planning to strut his stuff on the catwalk.
Princes Quay manager Tony Wilkes said the eccentric dancer was the "perfect" celebrity to host next month's fashion show.
He said: "Louie's energy, enthusiasm and the sparkle he brings to the stage made us sure that he was the perfect choice for Princes Quay.
"His larger-than-life personality is sure to add a new dimension to our celebrity fashion show.
"Shoppers can definitely expect to be entertained."
The annual fashion event will showcase the season's top styles to be found in the shopping centre's major clothing retailers.
Mr Wilkes said he hoped the extravaganza would inspire shoppers to make the looks on display their own.
The event is part of this year's Hull Bid Fashion Week, which is running from Monday, April 29, to Saturday, May 4.
The fashion week, which includes more than 30 events so far, aims to promote the city's diverse range of fashion stores and boost trade for the leisure sector.
The Hull Business Improvement partnership is working with retailers in the city to ensure the fashion week buzz extends throughout the city centre.
Mr Wilkes said he is expecting the shopping centre's spring fashion show to be one of the highlights of the annual fashion week.
He said: "The Princes Quay fashion shows are always a popular event with Hull's shoppers.
"Not only with those looking to get their hands on the next must-have styles, but also with those wanting to get up close to our celebrity guests."
He said a well-known band would also be appearing alongside Louie at this year's event.
The as-yet unnamed band will be modeling some of the outfits and performing live.
Organisers have high hopes for next month's Princes Quay fashion show – claiming it will be "the biggest and best to date".
They said: "It will offer catwalk shows throughout the day, make-up tips and demonstrations and live music.
"It will also offer shopping breaks to take advantage of offers available on the items showcased on the catwalk."
