STEVE Bruce has vowed to stay true to his attacking philosophies as Hull City bid to take a giant leap towards the Premier League when facing promotion rivals Watford tonight.
The KC Stadium plays host to one of its biggest ever games when the Tigers welcome Gianfranco Zola's Watford for a fixture that promises to shape the fortunes of both promotion hopefuls.
City know victory over the third-placed Hornets would further tighten their grip on second spot and open up a seven-point lead over the chasing pack heading into the season's final six games.
A 1-0 win at Huddersfield on Saturday has given City a cushion for the first time this season, but Bruce intends to fight fire with fire against the league's leading scorers.
"A draw would be a good result for us, but it's not our style to go out there looking for anything less than a win," Bruce told the Mail.
"We've only drawn five games all season so we'll not be setting up for a point.
"We're the home side and we always try to take the game to our opposition.
"We know if we play to our best then we're a match for any side in the division so it's important that we go out there and enjoy ourselves."
Not since City's Premier League adventure ended in 2010 has a fixture captured the imagination of the Tigers' faithful quite like tonight's promotion showdown.
Bruce's men are the side to catch in the automatic promotion race and a second win in four days would inflict a huge blow on the Hornets, who have collected just one point from their last three games.
"It's there for everyone to see how big a game this is, it's as big as they come in the Championship," added Bruce.
"It's two sides chasing automatic promotion and it's all the play for.
"We know how strong our position could be with a win. A seven-point gap over Watford would be huge to take into the last six games. That would be a really strong position.
"At the same time I'm sure Watford are also thinking they can get themselves right back in the race with a win. Watford certainly won't want to lose and see the gap stretch to seven points, so the stakes are very high."
Bruce will be forced into at least one change from the side that won 1-0 at Huddersfield, with midfielder David Meyler beginning a two-game suspension after collecting his 10th yellow card of the season.
Stephen Quinn, who surrendered his ever-present record at the weekend, trained fully yesterday but was due to have his knee injury assessed again this morning.
"Stephen trained and was okay, so if there's no reaction then hopefully he'll be available," said Bruce.
"He trained before Huddersfield and only felt a reaction afterwards. Stephen will be desperate to be involved but it's important to make sure he's 100 per cent."
