EAST YORKS: A home is needed for a three-legged cat defying the odds.
Volunteers at Cats Protection want to find 12-year-old Scooter a new owner.
A spokesman from the charity said: "Scooter lost a leg as a kitten. He now faces an equally distressing loss, which is that of his loving owner, who fought a long battle with cancer.
"He has always been an affectionate cat and sensed his owner's need for support by spending days by her side.
"Scooter's circumstances have never worn him down and the vets have always said his health is excellent.
"He has plenty of life to live and warmness to offer as a reward for anybody willing to give him a chance."
Cats Protection will pay future veterinary fees provided he stays registered with Norwood Vets. Anyone who can help should call 01482 861866.

Although plans are in place to help manage the impact of the predicted additional demand, their resources are not unlimited.
Yorkshire Ambulance Service is asking people with minor illnesses and injuries to consider the variety of other NHS healthcare services available to them for advice and treatment for non-emergencies and less serious conditions.
For many ailments a local pharmacist can provide advice on illnesses and the medicines you need to treat them at home and many pharmacies will be open throughout the Easter break.
People can also get help at an NHS walk-in centre or minor injuries unit which are usually open early morning until late at night.
