Fergus Taylor overcame Sid Razak in the fourth fight of Hull's 'United' boxing night by a score of 59-56.
Taylor had his opponent troubled after just 74 seconds of the first round with a great body shot that rocked Razak, who survived the rest of the opening round without further damage. The punch gave Taylor, who towed over his opponent, an early advantage and he never looked back. Razak did come back a little but Taylor was too good for him. Even when Razak looked for a breather, Taylor was in his face delivering more punishment.
Zak Collins drew his light welterweight bout with Liam 'Left Hook' Ellis in the third fight of the night.
Both boxers enjoyed good spells in the bout that ebbed and flowed throughout but the referee couldn't find a winner between them. The 39-39 score was a true reflection of how close the fight was and the result keeps Collins unbeaten.
Danny Little beat Jason Nesbitt on unanimous points decision in the second fight of the night. Little was rewarded for his industry as he outpunched his opponent in all six rounds. Nesbitt, a veteran of over 170 fights, gave nothing in attack preferring to defend instead. Little was the deserved winner 60-54 in front of the big crowd.
Nathan Smith fought former world welterweight champion Junior Witter to start Hull 'United' boxing night.
In an exhibition bout, Witter was more determined to entertain the packed Sports Arena instead of boxing. Smith won't have learned a lot from the bout but fighting a former world champion is still something he can be proud of.
Because it was an exhibition bout, there was no result.
Story will be updated as the evening goes on.
