HULL City's loan star striker Gedo is likely to be sold by his Egyptian club in the summer, his coach has admitted.
It comes as Cairo-based club Al Ahly continues to come to terms with the huge disruption to football in Egypt.
They have only recently returned to competitive action following the Port Said disaster, when 74 football fans lost their lives last February.
However, it has seen the league spilt into two and games are being played behind closed doors as political tensions remain intense.
Now, with the game still in a state of major disruption, Al Ahly's team coach Hossam Al Badri has admitted the financial impact on the club may mean he has to lose both Gedo, and his team-mate Ahmed Fathi, come the summer.
"In winter I was under pressure from Ahmed Fathi and Gedo to approve their loan to Hull City," he said. "Again I will be forced to sell Gedo's international card to help our financial circumstances, especially after Hull have shown a desire to buy him."
Of the two players, Gedo would be the most likely to interest the Tigers in a permanent deal, having scored five goals to boost their promotion push since joining on a six-month loan in January.
His team-mate Fathi is yet to make a start for the Tigers, although he has been told to remain patient by manager Steve Bruce, with possible suspensions and injuries in the final weeks of the campaign likely to provide his chance to shine.
City would not be the only club interested in securing the services of Gedo, with Al Badri also claiming an un-named German club has been enquiring about signing him at the end of his loan spell.
However, as previously reported by the Mail, City have an option which means they are the only club able to sign both players for a 12 month period come the end of the season.
It is understood a fee was agreed at that stage, with City only able to buy the players should Al Ahly agree to letting them go.
"It is not only Hull who is interested in Gedo's services. We have received offers from German clubs to speak about contracts," Al Badri added
"We will take our decisions by the end of the season."
GEDO, Ahmed Elmohamady and Fathi all featured as Egypt secured a 2-1 win over Zimbabwe last night.
