POLICE are investigating two more reports of attempted child abductions in East Yorkshire.
Humberside Police have revealed they are looking into reports of two more attempts to lure children into cars less than a week after three men tried to force a boy into a van close to a Hull primary school.
In one of the attempts, two schoolboys were approached by a man in Willerby Square on Sunday, who asked them to get into his white Ford van.
The boys, both 12, ran away and told their parents, who called the police.
Police have also released a further appeal after three girls were asked to get into a car by two men as they stood at the junction of Southcoates Lane and Preston Road in Hull
A link between the Willerby accosting and the attempted abduction of the boy outside Stepney Primary School last week has not been ruled out.
Willerby resident Lou Duffy-Howard is partnership delivery manager for Hull City Safe.
The mother-of-four said: "This brings home what can happen.
"The obvious thing is for parents to remind their children of stranger danger and encourage them to shout up if they are fearful of anything."
She said more children were keen to play outside given the schools had broken up for the Easter holidays.
"They should stick with their mates and never go off with anyone they don't know," she said. "If needs be, they should just run away.
"I run a neighbourhood group in Willerby and have sent a message out about this. These reports are a concern but it provides an opportunity for parents to reiterate the message of stranger danger.
"Luckily, in these cases the children have done the right thing and ran away before reporting what had happened."
Last week, the Mail reported three men tried to force a young boy into a van on Tuesday, close to Stepney Primary School.
Letters were sent to the parents of all pupils at the Beverley Road school describing the attempted snatch as "worrying".
Parents were informed the men ordered the boy to get into the van but he ran away and told school staff, who reported it to the police.

On Sunday, two boys were approached by a man as they walked along Kingston Road at around 1.30pm. They told police the man was in a white Ford and began talking to them before asking if they wanted to get into his vehicle.
Both boys ran off and the man left the area in his van towards Hull.
He is described as white, of stocky build, 5ft 9ins, aged in his late 30s, with a shaved head and stubble and wearing a black jacket with a black hooded top underneath, black jogging bottoms and trainers.
Officers in Willerby remain vigilant but have not stepped up patrols.
A spokesman said: "Officers on patrol will be keeping an eye out, particularly around play parks and other areas where children congregate.
"But we haven't put out any extra patrols so far. Unfortunately, we didn't get a registration number for the van and there are hundreds of white vans about.
"But, hopefully, someone will come forward so we can get to the bottom of this."
In relation to the attempted abduction in east Hull, police are searching for two men who asked the three girls to get into their car.
The men in the black hatchback shouted at the girls as they stopped at the traffic lights.
The men suggested they get into their car but the girls ran off towards Preston Road as the men drove off down Southcoates Avenue towards Holderness Road on Saturday, March 16.
The men are described as both being white and aged in their 20s. One is described as having ginger hair and wearing a dark Adidas top while the other had brown hair.
Anyone with information on any of the attempted abductions should call Humberside Police on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
