WANNABE pop stars will get the chance to sing their way to fame and fortune when the X Factor mobile auditions come to Hull next week.
Simon Cowell's hit TV show will be holding auditions at the Prospect Centre in the city centre on Tuesday.
The mobile auditions were launched for the first time last year as part of a nationwide search to find the UK's next singing superstar.
They allow budding singers to try out in towns and cities where the X Factor's arena auditions tour doesn't reach.
Shopping centre manager Lee Appleton said he was "delighted" the show would be visiting Hull.
He said: "The X Factor coming to the Prospect Centre is absolutely out of this world.
"It's brilliant news for local singers, the city and the shopping centre.
"The mobile auditions are visiting a select number of places that wouldn't normally be on the show's radar, and for Hull to be one of those is just fantastic."
The X Factor mobile van will be at the shopping arcade in Brook Street, Hull, from 2pm to 5pm.
More than 200 people are expected to turn up for their chance to perform in the limelight.
Lee said: "The atmosphere is going to be amazing on Tuesday.
"The auditions will be held in the centre's upper atrium and excitement is building already, even our management team can't stop talking about it.
"We're welcoming everyone within the competition's age restrictions in Hull to come and have a go."
Show bosses are hoping the mobile auditions will snap up even more of the nation's undiscovered talent.
Last year, winner James Arthur was discovered at a mobile audition in Middlesbrough.
Arthur, who had the fastest-selling single of last year with his song Impossible, said: "If the X Factor audition van hadn't come to my town, I don't think I would have auditioned. Auditioning for The X Factor has completely changed my life".
Centre manager Lee thinks Hull could be home to the country's next singing sensation.
He said: "I'm sure Hull will have a representative in the competition.
"We've had buskers at the Prospect Centre in the past and they've all been really excellent.
"Who knows, we might even have a winner."
The shopping centre's Facebook page is also rooting for a Hull winner, saying: "We're looking for the next big star this Tuesday."
Mother-of-two Sara Blake, 24, is hoping to sing her way to stardom at the auditions.
Sara, of Bransholme, said: "It's such a great opportunity for me to make a better life for myself and my babies.
"I'll be resting my vocals for Tuesday."
