EAST HULL: Thieves stole a bike that was locked to a fence in the garden of a property in Caledon Close.

The purple Max DJAB mountain bike was taken between 7.30pm on Tuesday, March 12, and 7am the following morning.

A spokesman for Humberside Police said: "The cycle was secured with a chain and lock to a fence panel, but thieves, who entered the garden by a side gate, were able to free the cycle from its lock by causing damage to the fence panel."

The bike had white handlebars and disc brakes.

Anyone with information about the theft should call Humberside Police on 101, quoting the crime number 1962576.

BROUGH: Police are holding an open day at the village police station this weekend.

Officers will be offering advice on crime prevention, bike safety and healthy lifestyles at the event from 11am to 3pm on Saturday.

Staff from Humberside Fire and Rescue Service, the NHS and council will also be there.

There will be a range of events, including Wii Fit games, a bike test track and a boat demonstration by the Welton Waters Adventure Centre staff.

PCSO Jess Watts, of Brough Police Station, said: "I think it will be a great day for people to come to us, meet the team and also take part in some of the activities we have planned for the day.

"All the neighbourhood police staff will be at the event to offer advice, and are really excited to meet the residents who come along.

"The community day is just that – for the community, so the more people who come, the better it will be."

HULL: Firefighters will be washing cars for charity at Clough Road fire station on Saturday.

Officers are holding the car wash to raise money for the Firefighters Charity, which helps injured firefighters and their families.

It will take place from 10am to 2pm.
