GEORGE Boyd hopes to enjoy the experience of being involved with the Scotland squad ahead of the World Cup qualifiers against Wales and Serbia. Called up by manager Gordon Strachan for the first time, the Hull City forward took part in his first training session at Mar Hall Hotel, Bishopton, yesterday ahead of facing the Welsh at Hampden on Friday night. Although he was one of only a few players to take part in the session, the 27-year-old is thrilled to have made the step up to international level. "I just want to enjoy the experience and I'm glad to be part of it," he said. "I've been a part of the Scotland B squad before, but it's good to finally get a full call-up. "I'm rooming with Russell Martin, who I know from my Peterborough days, so it's nice to see a familiar face." Scotland's squad has already been hit by the withdrawal of Ross McCormack, James Forrest and Danny Fox, with Norwich City defender Steven Whittaker drafted in for Strachan's first competitive game as national team boss.
